“Who rocks the house? The Steelers Rock the House!” The 2017 Steelers Varsity Cheer team is coming to the end of another successful season. The cheer team is coached by Janelle Pritchard. Cheer Competition will be Oct. 14th from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. at Frazier High School. The Steelers will be competing against 10 teams.

Varsity cheerleader, Jenna Badger (7th grader, age 12), explains, “I’m very excited to do competition because last year I did not get to because of a concussion I got.”  Jenna has been doing cheer for two years now. “I like cheer because I like seeing my older friends and I like performing.”

Varsity Coach, Janelle Pritchard states, “I have been doing cheer coaching for two years now, I think coaching is fun and energetic but hard too.” Coach Janelle states “I think we will do good this year at the comp. I believe in us.”

There are 14 7th and 8th graders on the Steelers Varsity Cheer team, seven of them attend West Middle School. Jenna lastly states, “The season can be stressful, hard, fun, and interesting, but it’s fun hanging with friends and seeing each other!” We wish the girls good luck at competitions!
