Wow! Our Cross Country Team got first place at the league meet, for the second year in a row. The 2017 West Middle School Cross Country Season was a blast, but sadly, it had to end. The season started on September 7th, 2017, and ended on October 17th, 2017. Coaches Lauren Medley, William Wooster, Deonna Bridges, and of course the runners did an amazing job and made this Cross Country Season memorable.

A Cross Country runner, Elli Britton (7th Grader, Age 13) says, “I enjoyed this season so much. For the most part, we had great weather, and I just loved it.” She also mentioned that she placed pretty well at the League Meet, and overall was happy with her performance through the season. Throughout the whole season, we had to compete against all the schools, which was tough, but we did our best.

The team did quite well in our their previous dual meets. The League Meet was held on October 17th, at Cass Benton Park in Northville, Michigan. The team’s biggest rival, the Liberty Lions, was for sure going to be ready and strong at the League Meet. Mr. Wooster, Cross Country Coach says, “I preferred this season better because we ran faster, and worked so hard for a win each meet!”

Despite the constantly changing weather, it sounds like runners felt the hard work was worth it! Especially with a victory at the end of the season. All of the runners and the coaches did an amazing job to pull off a great season. Great job Bulldogs! Make sure to watch out, the Bulldogs are coming strong and fast for next season. Mrs. Bridges, a Cross Country Coach says, “This season was definitely one to remember.”
