Mr.Wells

Have you ever wondered what your teachers did when they were younger? Our very own P.E. teacher, Mr. Wells, once played in a college football game where the opposing team was coached by legendary Lou Holtz, “I played against the University of South Carolina and at that time their coach was a legendary coach named Lou Holtz and it was in front of 85,000 people and it was a very memorable experience. “

After Mr. Wells was done with high school, he was good enough to play football in College. Wells played tight end at Eastern Michigan University. One of Mr. Wells’s teammates, who he is still in touch with, is a Texas firefighter. Mr. Wells was a walk-on at Eastern. A walk-on is a college athlete who tries out for an athletic team without having been recruited or offered a scholarship.

Mr. Wells played three sports at Churchill High School in Livonia. He played basketball, baseball, and football. In baseball, Wells played rightfield. Wells also stated, “I had a strong bat so I was usually the third or fourth batter in the lineup.”
In Football, he played offense and defense. On offense, Wells played Tight end. While Mr. Wells was on defense, he would play linebacker. Mr. Wells also played forward for the basketball team.
