It cannot be denied that the Vegas Golden Knights have had a terrific first season in the NHL. They have already broken countless records as an expansion team, such as the most wins in their first year. The question everyone is asking though, is can Vegas actually win the Stanley Cup?

A lot of people think the Vegas Golden Knights can’t win the Stanley Cup. According to Cameron Laidlaw a 7th grader at West he stats “Vegas simply does not have enough playoff experience to beat experienced teams like Tampa, Nashville, and Pittsburgh.” Vegas is full of talent and speed but, hockey is a game of experience and Vegas has none in the playoffs.

Another big question is can Vegas beat the best teams like Tampa Bay who has one of the best offenses, Nashville who probably has the best defenseman in NHL along with Pekka Rinne in net, and Pittsburgh who is looking to win their 3rd straight Stanley Cup? All of these three teams have made it to the Stanley Cup at least once in the past 4 years.

The leading goal scorer for Vegas is William Karlsson, currently with 34. (March 1st) However, Vegas really only gets offense from about 6 players. Injuries could be their downfall if Vegas starts to run into them.

It is not impossible though. Some could argue Vegas has the best coach and is playing with the most passion. Vegas could also win the Stanley Cup if they enter the playoffs very hot. The NHL has seen teams win the Cup if they get hot heading into the playoffs such as the 2012 LA Kings.
