Father of 5. Hardworking Janitor. Funny. Kind. Humble. Mr. Kevin, our West Middle School (WMS) janitor, will be retiring on June 30th, 2018.

Why Mr. Kevin is Retiring

 Mr. Kevin has decided to retire because he has worked as a janitor for 38 years and he is finally ready to enjoy life. He states, “I want to go to Tennessee when I retire because I want to retire in a nice climate, and it is nice and quiet [there].” Mr. Kevin also wants the students at West to know that “It was nice knowing and meeting you.” On a scale of 1-10, he will miss the job a 5/10.

How Teachers Feel About Mr. Kevin Retiring

 Most of our teachers here at West are sad about Mr. Kevin retiring. Mr. Trzeciak, the WMS STEM teacher says, “All good things must come to an end.” Mrs. Bazzi, the West Middle School LME/PBL teacher explains, “Mr. Kevin makes me laugh and is very helpful.” She also states, “We have developed a strong friendship over the years.” Mr. Almachy thinks he is goofy and will miss his jokes.

How Students Feel About Mr. Kevin Retiring

Teachers aren’t the only ones that will miss Mr. Kevin, students will too! Amelia Orlowski, a 7th grader at West Middle School states, “ I will miss him because he is a good person, isn’t boring, and cares about the students.” Bailey Kennedy, a 7th grader at West feels like Mr. Kevin was good at his job because he cared about the staff and students.

  • He has 5 kids and their ages are 35, 33, 31, 29, and 27.
  • He plays on a softball team.
  • He enjoys fishing.
  • His favorite drinks are pop and coffee.
  • His favorite candy is Kit Kats.
  • He went to Garden City High School.

As Mr. Kevin walks these halls for the last times, make sure you show your appreciation towards him. He has enjoyed his job here at West because it is a great school and everyone is over the top. The Bulldogs will miss you, enjoy your retirement Mr. Kevin!
