The Detroit Lions Beat The Patriots!

Evan Montgomery, Reporter

The Detroit Lions had their first win of the season against the New England Patriots on September, 23.  The game took place at Ford Field and this was the best we have seen the Lions play all season long.

Ryan Montgomery, West Middle School parent, is very confident about the Lions ability this season. He feels the team’s running game is very solid. This was the first time in a while that the Lions could create holes for the running backs to run through. Ryan also thought that the defensive line applied lots of pressure, which made it difficult for the Patriots to not get many passes off.

He does not think the Lions are a playoff team yet. They still need three years to build and NFC North has fierce competitors. He thinks we should start Kerryon Johnson instead of Laggerate Blount because he has a good mixture of speed and power.

He does not think this loss will affect the Patriots, “They’ll be right back at it and will likely be back in the playoffs in another run to the Super Bowl,” he says.

This was a win the Lions desperately needed. They are currently 2-3. They will need to change a lot of things in order to see a victory at the Super Bowl. To start off, Matt Patricia does not fit the chemistry of the team. The Lions will not be going anywhere this season.
