The Book Fair Will Return to West

Every year WMS’s library hosts the Scholastic Book Fair. The earliest record of the Scholastic Book Fair being at WMS is in 2015. Some popular books were Ground Zero by Alan Grats,  Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Big Shot by Jeff Kinny and You Should See Me In a Crown by Leah Johnson. They raised over a thousand dollars. All the money raised from the book fair they use to buy new books.

Mrs. Davies buys the most popular books from the book fair for the library for kids who might not be able to afford them. The most popular toys were ping pong erasers, floating pearl pens, and the secret decoder pens.

This year there was a quick crisis, “There are always books that are going to be more popular and fortunately Scholastic allows us to do restocks,” WMS librarian Mrs.Davies says. They sold a majority of the books on the first day and Mrs. Davies needed a quick restock.

One of the best things about the book fair is that the books are cheaper than if you went to the store. I think I spent about like almost 20 dollars.” says 7th grader Neveen Khatib. She bought four things. Her book was only about eight dollars.

The Scholastic Book Fair will take place around the same time next year.
