The SJ5K Choir Concert is on March 16, 2022.

Mrs. Grady’s choir classes hold this annual concert in the West gym to raise money for families in need.

The SJ5K event was started for a student named Jesse. We hold it to support Plymouth and Canton families. To choose the songs, Mrs. Grady explains, “We approach the families. This year there are five. We approach them and ask them for songs that are meaningful in their life, or songs they really enjoy listening to. And then we take those suggestions and pick from that list of songs.” Each family has its own song.

Mrs. Grady thinks the concert is a good idea. “I think that this is a great way for our students here at West to get involved in something that is really meaningful and to offer support and help to people that are dealing with a stressful situation. There is nothing better than offering support to people that are in need.”

Lastly, Mrs. Grady adds, “I know that from personal experience this event it’s like a huge army hugging you. It’s really important, I think, for us to know that it just means a great deal to these families. And like I said, from personal experience, I know now how much the support means and I’m just so honored to be a part of it every year.”

The SJ5K concert is on March 16th at 7 pm. Please go see it!
