Aaron rodgers has been traded to the New York Jets
April 25, 2023
On March 16th, 2023, future hall-of-fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers said, “Since Friday made it clear that my intention was to play and my intention is to play for the New York Jets “ (Pat Mcafee Show). It’s been over a month and Rogers finally got traded to New York on Monday.
In 2022, Rodgers and the Packers missed the playoffs after a very unsuccessful season. The Packers’ unwillingness to spend money or even a pick in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft on a top receiver combined with letting Davante Adams, the best receiver Rodgers has played with in his career go to the Raiders, are all factors in Rogers decision to want to leave Green Bay.
So what did the Packers get for the 39-year-old superstar? Well, they gave the Jets Aaron Rodgers, the 15th overall pick in the 2023 draft, and a 5th-round pick. The Packer received a package consisting of the 13th overall pick, a second-rounder, and a 6th-rounder in the 2023 NFL draft. They also received a 2024 second-round pick (the pick becomes a first-rounder if Rodgers plays 65% of the snaps in New York).
We interviewed West student Sam about the trade and here’s what he had to say, “I think that the Packers won the trade because they got a lot of draft picks and moved up in the first round. It was bad for the Jets because they lost a lot of draft capital and Aaron Rodgers is old and has a very big contract.”
Let us know what you think about the trade.
