Celebrating Mother’s Day!

Isla Jones and Brianna Stasa

Mother’s day is celebrated every year on the second Sunday of May. Mother’s day is celebrated as a way of honoring the sacrifices mothers make for their children and to show appreciation to the amazing women that we wouldn’t be here without.

There are so many different ways to show your mom some appreciation this Mother’s Day. Even giving her a hug, or saying thank you for all she does can mean so much to a mother. But if you want to do a little more, here are some fun ideas to express how grateful you are for your mom!

  • Make a card
  • Buy her a small gift, (for example, her favorite candy/snack, nail polish, a piece of jewelry, a gift card, face mask, lotion, perfume, keychain  etc)
  • Make a home-made gift, (for example, a bracelet/necklace, a piece of house decor, a drawing, etc)
  • Anything meaningful (for example, matching necklaces, a picture of your family or something you both love, etc)
  • Flowers
  • Slippers/socks
  • A book
  • A candle
  • A Mug/cup
  • Make breakfast/lunch/dinner for her
  • A blanket or pillow
  • A jewelry case
  • A tote bag
  • Body care (for example, body wash, a loofah, body scrub, body butter, body lotion, etc.)
  • Hair care (for example, hair oil, hair perfume, hair mask, etc)

There are so many other things not listed, but these are just a few examples of easy gifts. When it comes to Mother’s day, a little can go a long way. And it’s not just your mom, it’s your grandma, your friend’s mom, your pet’s mom, and others. Those people work and care just as much as your mom, so make sure they know you appreciate them too. Hopefully this has inspired you to show your mom, grandma, aunt, or any mom, some appreciation for all they do for you!
