It’s that time of the year again; trick or treating, pumpkin spice lattes, and spine-chilling flicks! We have interviewed West’s students and staff for their most wickedly fun features, and here’s what they had to say.
We met with Mr. Fisher, an obvious cinema fanatic, to get his opinion on the festive films. He isn’t much of a horror buff himself, but you can find him watching the classics such as Walt Disney’s Hocus Pocus or Halloweentown. Movies The Addams Family and The Nightmare Before Christmas, seem to have piqued his interest as well, although he has never seen them. We then spoke to Mr. Almachy, a fan of the oldies such as The Addams Family, and his personal recommendation: Ghostbusters.
Finally we chatted with 7th graders Kelly Howes and Drew Kwiatkowski. Kelly, a self-proclaimed “Horror Enthusiast”, said she thoroughly enjoys the seasonal films. You can find her watching Casper for a nostalgic throw-back or John Carpenter’s Halloween on a fall night. “Halloween is a classic,” says Howes, “I loved how it ended!”. Drew however, goes for a Disney movie himself, The Nightmare Before Christmas being his favorite. “Halloween movies are exciting and fun to watch in the fall,” said Drew.
So there you have it. The people of the West Middle School are quite the thrill-seekers! Hopefully you have been inspired for your next movie night, and be sure to cuddle up on the couch and turn on your favorite Halloween movie this season.
