New Books Coming to the West Middle School Library

There are a ton of new books coming to the library, and I’m sure that we all are very excited for them. On Tuesday, November 28, I met up with Mrs. Davies, the West Middle School librarian, to talk about the new novels.

Mrs. Davies gave me a list of genres that are coming to fill the shelves. Mental health books. Several books about people who have differing abilities. For example, autism. We have Non-fiction books, World religion books, Maker books. Books with Facts and statistics, about varying new topics. The Guinness book of world records 2024 will be a popular one. Video game books, Hockey books, Romance books, Other language books, Spanish books, Chinese books, etc. And a lot of peoples favorite books, manga! ¨I am really looking forward to getting these books in our very own library,¨ she says.

two books that Mrs. Davies is really excited about Top Story by Kelly Yang, and The Lost Year by Katherine Marsh. One book that she thinks lots of people will love is The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han. Next, we got some students’ favorite books and genres.

On Wednesday, November 29 I met up with Griffin, Rowan, Berlin, and Rory, and asked them their favorite books and genres. ¨My favorite book is Dr. Seuss, The Cat in the Hat, and my favorite genre is historical fiction,¨ Griffin said. ¨ Well, my favorite book is Harry Potter, and I think my favorite genre is science fiction,¨ Rowan said. Berlin says, ¨my favorite book is Restart, my favorite genre is gonna have to be realistic fiction.¨ Last but not least, Rory exclaimed that ¨My all time favorite book is The Penderwicks, and my favorite genre to read is realistic fiction too.¨ 

There you have it. We are all excited for the new books, and we are looking forward to them being here. Some books will arrive before our break, and some not until January. So when the time comes, go find a great new book to enjoy!
