Hello, all! I’m Audrey, and I’m here to tell you all about the planet Jupiter.
First, Jupiter is – obviously – the largest planet in our solar system. It’s nearly twice as massive as all the other planets – combined!
Next, the planet has a massive storm floating around it called the Great Red Spot. This storm is so huge it could fit three Earths side-by-side in its radius, and is over 300 years old!
Also, Jupiter’s bands and swirls of clouds hide ammonia, water, and TONS of massive storms! These storms, like Saturn, can sometimes produce massive amounts of lightning, and when the lightning is deeper in the atmosphere, it can create carbon, which hardens into diamonds in its turn. These then, sadly, fall to an untimely death in Jupiter’s core.
Finally, a day on the planet is fast. Imagine trying to get everything you normally do in a day done in ten hours! In contrast, Jupiter’s years are nearly 12 times longer than Earth years.
Well, it looks like we’ve reached the end! Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a great day!
