Hello, all! I’m Audrey, and I’m here to tell you all about some types of nebulae.
The first thing I should probably do is explain nebulae for those who don’t know what they are. They’re basically giant clouds of gas and space dust that float in space, creating new stars. Like… star nurseries.
The first type of nebula I’ll introduce is the dark nebula. These are dense enough to block light from background stars, and are mostly black, like wisps of dark mist. Examples are the Horsehead Nebula, the Coalsack Nebula, and the Snake Nebula.
The second type of nebula is the supernova remnant. Supernova remnants are the leftovers from a star that met its unfortunate end and died in a gigantic explosion, and they can also form new stars. Examples are the Spaghetti Nebula, the Manatee Nebula, and the Jellyfish Nebula.
The last type of nebula I’ll talk about is the diffuse nebula. They are thin and widespread collections of gas and dust, not always creating stars like other nebulae, but if they are large enough, they still can! Examples are the Boomerang Nebula, the Cave Nebula, and the Tarantula Nebula.
Well, it looks like we’ve reached the end! Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a great day!
