What do you think is special about Michigan? Well I asked my fellow classmates, some of my teachers, and my group what they think and this is what they said.
For starters I asked Alisia Shahinllari and she said “Our lakes are like fresh water seas. Our life blood comes from the lakes. We are fish in this soggy mitten and we will stand to protect our lakes.” Then I asked Brooklyn O’Brien and she responded with “Our sports teams are doing really well. Like the Pistons. Also the Lions are making their way to the Super Bowl.” I went to Aislinn Forte to see what she had to say so she told me “Michigan is special to me because it always gave me a safe environment to live in and it has a great community.” After that I turned to Drew Kwiiatkowski and he said “Michigan won the national championship.” Then, I asked Vivian Christianson and she said “I have a bunch of family and friends here and the lakes are nice like sitting at the beach.”
I also asked my group and Madison Polocoser said “ Lee’s chicken is special about Michigan. I also like the weather and that we have four seasons.” Caroline Walling stated “The lakes and activities that Michigan has are special to me and downtown Detroit is super cool and the traditions we have here. I also like up north and the lakes and beaches.” Alex Ruiz stated “ The community is amazing and everyone is super friendly.” Raneen Saad said “ I also think Michigan is special because of the weather and the four seasons.”
I also asked some teachers what they liked the most about Michigan. Ms. Lowry stated, “Up north is what’s special about Michigan to me. I have a cabin up north that has been in my family since before I was even born.” Mr. Calzone said that, “Both my parents went to Michigan. My mom was the first female trombone player in the marching band. Both of my parents played in the marching band. I have had season tickets my whole life.” Then, we asked Mr. Wells and he stated “ I like the ability to travel two or more hours north and be able to see a different environment and trees and outdoor change. As well as being close to Detroit and Ann Arbor with a lot of sports venues and family things to do. Also we are one of the few states that has all four seasons, spring, summer, fall, winter which makes it really nice all year round.”
