Tencent has launched a new way of payment transaction into China’s economics. This idea that has become reality always has been thought about for our near future. Now that dream has finally come true for humanity.
Tencent has made a device that scans your palm print and veins, looking for certain details. It creates an image of vein patterns, then compares them to others in the database. When a person brings their hand close to the scanner’s sensor a near-infrared light is emitted. The blood in the veins absorbs it which allows a dark vein patterned image to be captured. After, the machine tries to find the hand’s identity. Once the machine has found you, it looks up your account. To find your account in the database you need to opt-in and join the payment system of the future.
The machines were invented to make life more convenient. When using the machine, no phone or credit card is needed. The bioelectric scanner started developing in 2019 and released in late 2023. Why not face scanning instead? Face recognition can mess up sometimes because some people look alike, like siblings or family members, but vein patterns and palms are different. Kind of like how giraffes have different spot patterns and zebra’s stripes are different.
These machines are 99.9999% accurate and helps prevent identity theft. Tencent’s number one priority is to keep your identity protected and your information secured. The expansion lies firmly in the hands of the public.
What if they bring this technology to the United States? Will people use this futuristic machine? I think people will use it but still bring a of the cards and cash because people will think it is trustworthy. Also I don’t think all businesses will use this technology so the idea of people not needed anything will be true for some places but need cards and cash for other places. So even though it is a good idea I don’t think this technology will take off.
