On Wednesday, the 24th, the RDJ students traveled to East Middle School to go to the Hindu Temple. If any students had allergies and bring food, they are only allowed to bring things vegetarians can eat.
At the temple, we sat in the main room and we were taught some basic things about Hinduism. Fun Fact, Hinduism is the oldest of all established religions, with origins that date back more than 5000 years in India. The food was really good, we got pita and rice. There was more, but I can’t remember what it was called. Then they showed us some of the yoga they do.
We got to try on some of their clothing, like salwar or kurta. Salwar is an Indian dress and kurta is a collarless button shirt. It was really fun and taught us a lot about their religion. We also got to do bhangra, which is their kind of dance which you do turning in a circle with lots of people. Overall, this was really fun.
