Science Olympiad competed at Wayne State University for Science Olympiad teams! Mrs. Culbert, the teacher who set this up for our school, has a few things to tell us about the event.
Mrs. Culburt states, “This year there were more teams that we faced and they were tough teams and we came in 6th place.” Mrs. Culburt said that 4 members medaled, one team came in second place, and the 3 others came in 4th place.
Mrs. Culbert added, “I am most proud of our team working as a team we’re completely student-run and student effort where a lot of other teams will… their parents have to be involved in the team and they are not, this is completely student effort.” Mrs. Culbert stated that the team improved on working with their partners and they respected each other.
I also interviewed some of the members. The 8th-grade medals were Ciaran, Liv, Sarah, and Ceci. Ciaran got 4th place in Prime Mistress, Liv got 4th in Road Scholars, and Sarah and Ceci got 2nd in Wheeled Vehicles. They are proud of not being last, making more friends, and proud of what they placed.
