Have you heard about the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) that started in August of last year? The PWHL has had a huge impact on girls hockey.
Just recently, on March 16th, Boston and Ottawa came to Motown to play each other in the Little Caesars Arena. Boston, the home attender, won in an overtime shootout 2-1.
Detroit broke the record in the U.S for the most attended PWHL game with 13,316 fans packed into the arena and still holds the record today. The stands were packed with girls hockey teams from all over the state of Michigan and Canada.
The game definitely kept fans on the edge of your seat with all the checking and crazy breakaways.
There were tons of fun activities like celebrity lookalikes and hockey trivia on the big jumbotron. Girls from all over were singing to the Taylor Swift music and just having a blast.
The big game downtown was also sponsored by Elf cosmetics and every person that attended got a free clear lip gloss.
The game was crazy fun and I would definitely go again.
