What Happened to MTV?

MTV, Once the biggest music video network on cable tv. 

Now, I was not around when MTV was in its heyday, but I still have seen more than my fair share of retro MTV comedies. I am going to be honest, I miss the old MTV. Once a revolutionary and cool network producing funny and entertaining shows like Beavis & Butt-Head and Daria, screening the latest and coolest music videos of the time, and not to mention those absolutely awesome intros, is now a trashy, cheap, and stupid reality network that produces shows like Jersey Shore and Catfished. I really dislike MTV now.

Now, I realize some people crave the drama of these types of shows, but I just can’t see the appeal. They are just not my type of stuff. I wish MTV could go back to its teen-popular roots, instead of broadcasting these boring reality shows. They are dumb, stupid, and fake. I don’t like these shows at all and they are what make MTV so disappointing to me now.

I personally love the idiotic and dumb humor of Beavis and Butt-Head, and the smart comedy of Daria. I also really love to see the revolutionary visual effects of the music videos being broadcast, and the relatable yet still catchy lyrics of the songs themselves. MTV used to be awesome, but now it just kind of disappoints me. Granted, they still have cool shows like Ridiculousness. A quick article, I know, but I am happy to finally share my opinion.
