Cinco De Mayo: ¡Vamos De Fiesta!
Cinco de Mayo. A popular, dazzling, and beautiful celebration of Mexican culture. It’s more than just Coronas and tacos. Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexico’s vanquishment at the Battle of Puebla of the French on May 5, 1862, during the Mexican War.
The most popular traditions to commemorate this triumph are military parades, reenactments, performing mariachis, and more. It may not be such a popular holiday in Mexico itself, but in the U.S; especially within Mexican-American populations, it is a representative, colorful, delightful, and gorgeous display of Mexican culture and tradition itself.
There are many ways to party on this occasion, even as simple as just eating Mexican food! How will you celebrate Cinco de Mayo this year?
