Northville Cosmos Girls Soccer Team!

The Cosmos is a girls soccer team in Northville. Around 8 of these amazing players on the Cosmos are students at West Middle School!

This team was first created about 6 years ago in 2018 and continued to improve each year and even won first place in the U11 girls rec in division 2 about two years ago in the Spring of 2022. One year later, the whole team had to shift from Plymouth soccer to Northville after Plymouth closed U12. This caused a challenge as players and coaches left.

Two of the girls from the Cosmos in 6th grade shared their experiences about being on this team. Avery Kelley explained what she liked about playing with this team and said, “I like learning to play with other players and running up the field.“ Avery is a 6th grader at West Middle School and one of the Cosmos’ coaches daughters who plays the midfield and offense positions. Vienna Batzer is also a 6th grader at West Middle School who plays the midfield positions on this team. When asked why do you like playing on this team? She said “I have a lot of friends on my team!” 

A few of these girls have been on this team since it was created in 2018 including Vienna Batzer. Most of these talented players have joined and stayed because they love playing together. Some of the girls go to Hillside Middle School as well as WMS. 

Each year this team celebrates one more year together with a Parents vs. Players soccer game and hopes for more incredible soccer seasons to come.
