Upcoming Movies in 2024

2024 is a big year, but not just because of the April 8th eclipse, March Madness, or the Olympics. Movies. Highly anticipated movies will be released this year, so what should we get ready for?

The newest big movie that has been advertised everywhere is “IF,” coming out on May 17th. The movie follows a girl named Bea, who discovers that she can see everybody’s imaginary friends from their childhoods. She then goes on a quest to reconnect these people with their old “IFs.” The movie is rated PG and is coming out in just over two weeks.

Another huge movie that I am looking forward to is Inside Out 2. The first Inside Out was a massive success and kids loved it. 9 years later on June 14th, the sequel is coming! The story continues with Riley, who is now a teenager. Riley’s emotions of joy, Fear, Sadness, Anger, and Disgust have been running operations in Riley’s head pretty well. However, when new emotions show up, things get out of hand. This movie is coming out right around the time that school goes out, on June 14!

Next, another big movie will be Despicable Me 4, coming out on July 3. In this movie, Gru welcomes a new member of the family, Gru Jr. However, this perfect existence comes crashing down soon as the mastermind criminal, known as Maxime Le Mal, breaks out of prison, and makes it his mission to get revenge on Gru. This movie is the 6th in the entire saga, and I am still wondering what happens after Despicable Me 4. But, no matter what, the expectation is high, and I’m looking forward to seeing it. However, these are only a few of all of the movies coming out this summer. There is much, much more.

Last, but most definitely not least will be Borderlands. The one and only Borderlands. Based on the super-famous videogame of the same name, the movie follows an infamous outlaw returning to her home planet. She forms an alliance of unlikely heroes to fight aliens and bandits to find a missing girl, who is said to hold the key to unimaginable power. This movie has been delayed for nearly a decade, due to creative shakeups and multiple writers and directors showing up. But, there is an official date, and the movie comes out on August 9, 2024.

As I said, this is not all! Other movies like Deadpool and Wolverine, The Garfield Movie, and Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes are coming out.
