Robotics is a fun yet criminally underrated elective club at West. It combines your teamwork and building skills and puts them to the test. Here is some information and topics if you are interested in Robotics.
To start, West Robotics is divided into teams. I’d recommend The Bionic Bulldogs or the Iron Dogs. Once you have picked your team, you decide if you will be a programmer or a builder.
Being a Builder means you will be working together as a group using tools and other materials to make your robot the best it can be. On the other hand, becoming a programmer is a great choice as it is very beginner-friendly and could help you if you’re striving for a technology job.
From the fun and thrilling competitions to the occasional robot uprising, you’re going to find the right people with common interests and you could even make some unexpected friends. Not only will you get to build cool robots, but you’ll also help improve on some important skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and technology skills. Plus, you’ll have a blast doing it! Joining a robotics team can open up opportunities and prepare you for a successful future.
Robotics is a promising and exciting opportunity, and even better, it’s open to any single West student if you’re interested in technology and coding! You can build a robot, program a robot, and participate in crazy fun competitions against other schools.
