West Middle School is known for its winning sports teams. However, many students have agreed that West should offer more sports.
Last year, the 7th-grade girls’ basketball team won every game by a lot and demolished the league. The West swim team did great and hopefully will do the same, if not better, this year. The West cross country team was blowing out the competition this year and was on top all season.
When interviewed, Mr Almachy said, “Boys’ volleyball and soccer” were the only things that he would add. We also asked if he would let the 6th graders do more than they are already allowed to, and he said he would let them do soccer.
Now we know that the school is open to more sports and hopefully, we will see some more sports open in the near future.
When Mrs. Horvath was a student at PCCS, middle schools had baseball, softball, and boys’ volleyball.
We both agree that football and soccer would be a great addition to West Middle School.
