New AI systems can catch threats “almost instantly,” says PCCS officials interviewed by Channel 4, Click on Detroit.
PCCS has partnered with Motorola and Invisalign in the high schools to integrate AI into the security system. The schools have 1600 cameras, which is too many for people to watch 24/7. The new system, however, allows AI to watch the cameras at all times.
“I knew this was going to make schools safer,” says Safety and Security Director Josh Meier. The system includes doors locking as an alarm, and an announcement follows. Meanwhile, all teachers get an alert through an app on their phones. The goal is that AI catches the threat before they enter the building.
This is not just for the high school; the system also patrols all the middle and elementary schools. It is all sent to the command center to help keep all the schools safe.
