There are a lot of interesting astronomy events coming up in 2025. This year there will be comets visible to the naked eye, rocket launches, and meteor showers.
January 13-14: Comet ATLAS can possibly be visible to the naked eye. If the comet burns bright enough you will not need any technology to view this comet.
February: NASA might launch the SPHEREx. This mission will survey the sky in 102 colors that are not visible to humans.
February 28: There will be 7 planets will be visible in the sky all at once. The planets that will be visible are Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
March: A Indian space agency and NASA might launch something to map Earth’s surface.
March 29: The sun will be partly eclipsed in Europe, the United States, and Canada.
Spring: The Axiom-4 mission might take Polish, Indian, and Hungarian astronauts to the International Space Station.
April 21-22: The Lyrids meteor shower will be at its peak. It is best seen in the northern hemisphere.
July 3: The Earth will be at its greatest distance from the sun.
Some of these events will be visible without a telescope. What astronomy events do you think will happen in 2026?
