Rory McIlroy (35 years old) won his first Masters this past week.
Rory played against 53 players and ended up in a tie with Justin Rose. McIlroy beat Rose in a play-off, clutching the Masters Champion title.
Rory had a tough putt on the last hole, which caused the tie. After he played the tie, he said, “You know, at the end there, it was with Justin (Rose), but my battle today was with my mind and staying in the present.”
Because of this win, Rory won 4.2 million dollars at the Masters.
This year, the masters was at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.
After his glorious win at the Masters, he made sure to recognize those who led him to this victorious moment, like his wife and his 4-year-old daughter, plus his other family and friends.
After 11 years of playing professional golf, Rory has finally won the Masters.
