Do you know how the SJ5k started?
The SJ5K began with a boy named Jesse. The race was started in 2011 when the Canton-Sophomore Jesse Lindlbauer suffered a life-threatening brain injury.
Jesse did not have any previous symptoms, though Jesse still fought brain trauma, meningitis, and other illnesses from what was thought to be a mild sinus infection.
Our community came together to raise money to support his needs, and that’s when the first SJ5K was born.
Throughout the event, they raised enough money to support Jesse’s new lifestyle. The race has continued in Jesse’s name and continues to support local families in crisis.
Help from the P-CCS community has changed the lives of dozens of families and raised over a million dollars.
