West 6th graders worked together at Tree Runner. This was a great field trip to get outside and socialize. The sounds of laughter, talking, fun, and the occasional yell of “Staff!” when they got stuck were all sounds that filled the park. Everyone zipped, climbed, and maneuvered through the courses. WEB leaders helped organize groups, lead students, and account for everyone. Students worked together in different ways, like leading groups, assisting with courses, and getting each other unstuck. Everyone was grateful for this field trip. -Justin

Hopping from tree to tree, these students shall adventure through the forest. students glied from a to b eating there food in seconds. hopping on nets and dodging balls students yelling “staff” and zipping thru the sky chugging water. golfing with purpose swish hitting pars eagles birdies and holes in ones. zipping clicking there is nothing these students can’t climb. Balancing on trees like lil ninjas there is nothing these ninjas can’t do. Falling but getting back up. as the trip comes to an end theas students come out super parkour ninjas that lurk in the trees riding the bus home. -Will
The students of West went on a trip with the ending point of encouragement. The constant zrrs I hear from ziplines and students encouraging each other saying,¨good job.¨ And the view from being 100 feet high in the trees. I couldn’t believe the height and challenge the courses gave. The great experience of tree runner was priceless but I would give anything to go again. -Brady
Climbing commando is hard but taking care of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders is even harder. You guys were helping us with everything. It was very organized and calm. It was a very fun place to have a field trip there. Even though it was my First time I wasn’t scared. “STAFF!” Everybody yelled when he/she couldn’t go to the next obstacle. You were all over the place helping middle schoolers getting there straps on. Opening the gate where many kids await to fly through the trees, with tons of energy. Thank you for everything! -Nick
Bulldogs venture off into the trees with the goal of friendship. 6th graders at West middle school head to Tree Runner with the Web Leaders. This trip allowed new students to feel welcome and that they could express themselves fully. Who knew Bulldogs could bark up the right tree? -Alessandra
Connecting In Nature
“Get excited and enthusiastic about your own dream. This excitement is like a forest fire – you can smell it, taste it, and see it from a mile away.” by Denis WaitleyExcitement filled the air as 6th graders zipped along above ground at TreeRunner Adventure Park, but the field trip wasn’t just about zip lining – it was about teamwork, connection, and courage. Laughter bounced around the park as students cheered each other on, and even helped each other go through courses. For many, it was an amazing break from the challenges of middle school. The trip built friendship, teams, and reminded everyone learning doesn’t always happen in a classroom. The TreeRunner field trip proved that teamwork and joy can grow everywhere – even up above the trees. -CeCe
Running, ziplining, going up high in the sky. You are wondering when our feet can finally touch the ground again. “AHH,” someone falls and they think it’s the end but the rope suddenly catches them. “STAFF,” the student yells. Then the life saver, helps the bulldog get back on to the tree. Wishing to be back on the ground. Imagine watching, helping, and teaching us how to get back on our feet. Students were in wonderful hands here at Tree Runner. -Giuliana
Tree runner fears
“Pull, tighten clip.” Those were the words coming out of Sherall the instructor’s mouth at different times. But students were scared. West students climbed up going tree to tree. Horrified of heights, students saw tears rolling down thier peers faces. The words ”you got this” spilled out of mouths. The encouragement driving students into a determined state, “I got this!” Students wiped the tears off. Students overcame fears and obstacles that day. No more Tree Runner fears. -Madison Ke
“This is so much fun!” as I heard the WEB leaders, sixth graders and journalism having a blast in the trees! Mr. Meyer, Mr. Vassel and eighth graders really stood out this year. Everyone could tell that the WEB leaders put a lot of work into the field trip. Another thing was the workers, at Tree Runner, takes pride into working at Tree Runner. Also, the sixth graders were very invested into the “bonding” activities. Very good bonding planned by the WEB leaders! One last thing noticed was the eighth graders really helped out the sixth graders. Like when one student was scared and the eighth graders helped out! -Madison K.
“Staff!” students yelled for help.
The tree line was filled with students.
Some were stuck, while others were having fun.
Laughing teachers climbed while kids were stuck.
People yelled, “koala up.”
Rushing people down the zipline
all everyone hears is slide, glide, and ride.
“Kids, teachers, and staff all have fun
after a while, some people decided to run.
“Teamwork is DreamWork,”
we all made it through, and no one left out crying
or with the blues.
-Zoe
“I’m going to regret this later.” Those were my last words. ZzOoooooOooomm! The zipline abruptly stops. “Staff!” A call for help. You could hear it a mile away. Once the staff arrived there was a huge sigh of relief. They finally helped the students down. That day everyone left with not just a fun experience. They left with leadership, with perseverance, but the biggest thing they left with was new friendships. -Jamie
Tree Runner Doomsday.
As Jamie hangs in the air Zoe yells for staff. Let’s go back the other way. Zoe goes down first as staff gets Jamie off the zipline. All the sudden another girl stuck in the trees. “Koala climb up Zoe!” Okay you can go Emma. AHHHHHHH!! Bro forgot the zip line hook. Ella your turn. There’s no way we can all get stuck…. Or so she thought. But it’s a speedy recovery. finally out of the trees. Mrs. Horvath looking down, “Maybe you guys should go back to the bus.” Sarcastically. No more zip lines for a little while. -Emma
Big zip bigger flop
The tree leafs were blowing in the wind, the sound of 6th graders yelling “staff”. There some students were, about to start the Big Zip for the 6th grade field trip. Jamie zipped from one tree to another with students following until she got stuck. Jamie and friends bursted out crying-laughing while staff called for the “F150”. Then Zoe started to head back and got stuck, same with Emma. Friendships blossomed wile mis Horvath said “ I think you guys should just head back to the bus” sarcastly. Students went home with their bellies full of laughter. -Ella
When I went on the Tree Runner field trip it was one of the best field trips ever! The staff there were super helpful and kind. Before I started climbing, one of staff members said, “Don’t worry you’ve got this!” That made me feel more confident, when my harness got tangled on the zipline, another staff member came over and helped me while saying “you’re doing amazing keep going.” I loved how they always made sure everyone was safe and having fun. By the end, I felt proud of myself, and I couldn’t stop smiling as I ”SWOOSHED” through the ziplines.-Violet
Zip. Zip. Clink? The sound of a failed zipline. “Staff!” every student surrounding the incident called out in a hurry. A team member raced over almost as fast as a lightning bolt. Immediately reassuring the distressed students and calming their nerves. Once shaken students now tree climbing pros, thanks to the terrific staff at tree runner. -Vera

“Staff!” Students fell to the ground laughing After turning around off the zipline. Everyone had a traumatic/funny experience at this most recent 6th grade field trip. At this field trip students learned to be better humans together and how to use teamwork to the best it can be. After starting the morning off with some teamwork activities then going to tree runner for the students to try out there new skills, this was overall an amazing field trip! -Harper
“Good job,” I hear. Laughter filled the air. It was not an ordinary school day. It was the type of field trip that brought people together, unexpectedly. Recently West Middle School went to the Tree Runner. During the trip there was a unexpected bound between the eighth graders and the sixth graders. The many groups of students and Web leaders all sounded the same. Not based on the tone of their voices. But the words that the students were speaking. -Logan
“Staff!” Students were hanging high up in the trees, calling for “Help!” West 6th and 8th-grade students were showing so much patience and teamwork. All the teachers who were there were saying how amazing the staff and students were. The students’ laughter filled the outside. Happy to be spending time with their friends. Students saying “good job!” “Almost there!” “Your doing a great job!’’ Amazing job everyone! -Payton
“ Shoot, shoot, shoot,” My mouth blurted out, then my ears heard “Staff!” Some students were trying to help. My dangling body was stuck on the zipline, while others laughed hysterically. ‘“Stella, how did you even do that?” One student asked on her knees. Shortly after dangling there and lots of yells of “Staff!”, the staff lady came and helped. After that students around me learned from the experience, it’s ok to have fun, just don’t forget to clip one of your clips on! -Stella
