Ms. Palmer, 8th and 7th ELA teacher, is retiring!

Damin Broyer, Reporter

ELA teacher from West Middle School, Ms. Palmer, is unfortunately retiring. But why has she decided this? What brought her into teaching? What will she do next?

Why is Ms. Palmer retiring? Well, she says that the death of her mother was a big part of her decision. She has been teaching for a long time, she is ready for something new. She decided to teach as her career because she loves to work with kids.

When she taught, she said that the most rewarding thing about her teaching was to “Get kids excited about reading.” She wants to “Turn kids into readers” as Ms. Palmer states. After she retires, she wants to go to Disney World with her family. She wants to spend time with her granddaughters when she retires.

Her advice to new teachers is that “Teaching is a process. You have to grow with it.”

Her advice to students is to “Make the best of school.”

From West Middle School, we say thank you, and we will miss you, Ms. Palmer!
