The West Ski Club is starting this January 2019. All West students can participate in the Ski Club, where students can choose to snowboard or ski. Registration for the club opened back in September. There was an informational meeting on Tuesday, November 13th. However, it is not too late to join!

Andrew Stergiou, from West Middle School, is in the Ski Club and is ready to go skiing in January.  Andrew thinks that snowboarding is fun and it is a good workout. Andrew states that it takes about 2-3 minutes longer to get to up the hills. He explained that buying snowboards and skis are expensive, each kit costs about 300 dollars! He also told me that if you are not fit, it will be hard to balance, and if you are not careful you could hit a tree. When skiing you should always stay focused ahead of you.

You can get hurt in the ski trip many ways but there are some things you can do to stay safe. First, you should always have the right equipment like goggles, snow pants, gloves, big jacket, etc. You should always be aware of the sun’s reflection, it can blind you good enough that you won’t be able to see ahead. You should wear a helmet in case you fall on your head. Watch where you are going because you might hit a tree.

For all of you reading this go to the Plymouth-Canton website and sign up today! The ski trip is a blast to go on, and I will ensure that you will have a good time!
