The first quarter of the school year is coming to an end and some of the student’s grades aren’t as good as in past years due to the “Covid Slide”, and no, it isn’t a dance people did during quarantine.

The “Covid Slide” is a drop-in students’ academic performance. The average grades of students post-pandemic are solid B’s and C’s.

The “Covid Slide” is due to students not having the accountability during online instruction that they normally would have in-person.

Mrs. Swift, West’s counselor said, “Students were urged to have their cameras on and participate but some did not. Not participating made it hard for the students to learn.”.
