Poem #1

Paige

Nice, Happy, Joyful, Sweet

(I am still happy, joyful, and sweet to this very day.)

Daughter of Beth and Scott Cooper

(Yep, those are my parents.)

Who likes Friends, Family, Adventures

(Couldn’t I have put an and in there? It would sound better.)

Who feels Happy, Sweet, Kind

(Wow! Back when feelings were a thing, just kidding.)

Who wants a Smaller Bed, a WunderBar, to be a Cook

(My bed was a queen-sized bed, WunderBars are… I don’t know how to explain it, look it up.)

Who fears Monsters, Carbon Monoxide, Haunted Houses

(I don’t fear those things anymore, people really do change.)

Who gives Love, Care, Helpfulness

(Again, could’ve used an and in there.)

Who would like to see the Eiffel Tower, Pool in the Backyard, Texas

(I really wanted a pool I guess, also Texas? Seriously?)

Resident of Plymouth, MI

(Still am.)

Cooper

Ok, this poem wasn’t too bad but it could’ve used an and when I was listing off everything. I think this poem was supposed to be like when someone says “That’s my middle name (I’ll use a random first name) Lily ‘Happy’ Kitten” Don’t mind the last name. I was looking around my room for ideas and saw the game Exploding Kittens. I would rate this poem a 6/10.

Poem #2

If I Were

If I were a pair of shoes I would be all muddy

(Depends on who’s wearing the shoes.)

If I were a dog I would roll in mud all day every day

(Not so sure of that, I’m not too fond of mud considering how many times I’ve slipped in mud.)

If I were an earring I would give people infections

(Yeesh, that’s kind of harsh.)

If I were a cat I would be as perfect as anything

(Not everyone’s perfect.)

If I were a pancake I would be covered in syrup

(Don’t get me wrong I love syrup on pancakes, but I don’t think I would like to be covered in syrup.)

If I were a state I would have people walking all over me!!!

This was an ok poem I guess, considering I was 7 when I wrote it. I could’ve made it more relatable, because who would want to be covered in syrup and roll around in mud 24/7? I would rate this poem a 6.5/10.

Poem #3

Snow

Snow smells like winter in the air. Normally it smells like nothing.

(Feels like winter in the air too.)

Snow feels like a fluffy marshmallow but cold.

(Very cold.)

Snow looks like a big mountain of marshmallows.

(What’s with me and marshmallows? They’re not even that good alone. They are delicious on s’mores though. Now I want s’mores.)

Snow sounds like the howling of a wolf on Christmas morning.

(Oooh simile, nice.)

Snow tastes like water and an ice block melting in your mouth.

(I just realized these are all similes.)

Ok, this poem was actually pretty good. I don’t think I needed the “Normally it smells like nothing” I think I was trying to be funny. I’d rate this poem a 5/10

Poem #4

S is for the nice Sun Shine from the sky.

(Sun does shine in spring.)

P is for the Pink flowers that bloom in the spring.

R is for the beautiful Rainbow in the sky.

It is for the yummy Ice cream that you eat every day.

(Maybe not every day.)

N is for the Nice Napping in hammoks.

(I know how hammock is spelled, it was just my 7-year-old self like “I know how to spell 😈”.)

G is for the Growing flowers in the Garden.

A  spring poem just in time for… what isn’t spring. It’s too cold outside to be spring even though it is raining(I am writing this on Wednesday 3/23 we had indoor recess). I’d rate this poem a 5/10.

Poem #5

Dogs

Cute as ever

Sweet like a puppy

Awesome like you

Playful as ever

Kind like you

This is a short poem. Probably the shortest one I wrote. There’s really not much to say about it, so I’ll rate it a 3/10. I don’t know why, probably because it’s short and doesn’t really say much about why I wrote about dogs.

Poem #6

Chromebook

I’m sorry Chromebook have to push all of your buttons because the teacher told me to use my Chromebook

I’m sorry Chromebook I had to tap your face two thousand times I just had to close tabs

(This was back when we had touch screens for Chromebooks. Well, most people have touch screens now because of the new Chromebooks everyone got.)

I’m sorry Chromebook I just had to slam your face into your buttons I just needed to put you away in your charging area

I’m sorry will you ever forgive me?

I hope my Chromebook forgave me after that.  I wish I had a touch screen Chromebook now. I would rate this poem 10/10 it’s amazing I could sell it for like $100,000.05.

Poem #7

This is Binky Pink

(Hi Binky Pink.)

The Binky Pink lives in a Basic Blue Bed of Bamboo

(Bamboo is green.)

The Binky Pink likes to eat Bumble Bees, Bouncy Balls, the Bass, Bands, Berries, Big Beans, and Bananas

The Binky Pink likes to Be in groups when hunting for Big wild Beans and Berries

The Binky Pink likes to Beat on Banana while Bouncing with Bees and Berries

(So it beats on bananas while bouncing with its food… ok then.)

This was a weird poem, what is a Binky Pink? I think it’s an animal I created when I was 7. I’d rate this poem a 7/10

These poems were not as bad as I was expecting them to be. They were actually ok. The pictures that I drew to go along with them were even worse. For the dog poem, I drew a dog… its paws looked like they were coming out of its head.
