Sports are fun activities that can be different. Fun fact: every country plays some type of sport. We gathered data on what 7th grade students’ favorite sports were. The top picks were soccer, volleyball, and basketball. The first person we interviewed was Henry and his favorite was soccer. The reason he said he liked soccer is because he has been playing soccer for a long time. The next person we interviewed was Charlie and he said “ I’m a pro at it and I’ve been playing it for years”. The third person we interviewed was Drew and he said soccer. The fourth person I interviewed was Lexi and she said volleyball. She said “it isn’t that complicated and there are not a lot of rules and it’s fun”. The next person we interviewed was Andy and he said basketball “it is easy and fun and I’ve been doing it for seven years” he said. Carter’s favorite was football and Leo’s favorite was baseball.

History of the Olympics
The reason the Olympics were created to honor Zeus. Baron Pierre de Coubertin who was the founder of the modern Olympic Games. The Olympics originated around 3000 years ago by Greece. In 1896 the first modern Olympics took place in Athens. There were 280 participants that were from 12 nations. The contestants would compete in 43 different events. Now it is a chance to make the world a more peaceful world through challenges and competitions. Today we still do the same things but we created more new sports.
