The West Cross Country team beat the Liberty Lions with an overall score of 109 to 128. The West boys team put up a good fight but lost to the Liberty boys team with a score of 45 to 70. The West girl’s team, however, pummeled the Liberty girls team, 39 to 83. These are one of many wins of the Bulldogs this season.

A cross-country runner named Darren Doyle, who runs for the 7th-grade cross country boys team was interviewed by, reporter, Christian Leslie. Darren said that before the meet, he thought that West was going to win. Apparently, he was right about that! Our reporter has asked Darren if he did a good job. Darren stated,”Yes, because although I did not get a better place, I improved by 1 minute and 12 seconds which is pretty good.” He also states that he could have done better with his performance.

WEST CROSS COUNTRY girls beat the Liberty Lions.

Coach Medley, the cross country coach, was interviewed by our reporter Nolan Fowler. Coach Medley says, “It was a fantastic race. This is the fastest team I have ever coached, but the league is the fastest it has ever been.” Coach. Medley was confident going into the race. She states, ” Yes, the temperature cooled down and West racers are ready.”

It has been a great victory for the West Bulldogs against the Liberty Lions and also a great season for them too. Let’s see if they can beat the other cross country teams in the League Meet at Cass Benton, Northville, October 17th.
