Downtown Plymouth Explosion

DTE Explosion in Plymouth, Aug. 13, 2017, 8:30 pm, an explosion, and fire at the DTE substations caused power outages all over Plymouth and downtown.

Local Downtown Plymouth resident, Lauren Medley (WMS Teacher), heard a large revving sound just before the explosion happened. Another Plymouth resident claimed to hear a boom, and crackle, just before the explosion she was in fear and shock and was worried about the explosion.

The local residents heard an explosion, between 8:30 pm at night knocking out more than 4,000 homes and leaving thousands without power for the night. The local DTE energy has confirmed that 40 to 50 percent of the power restored will happen on Thursday to restore the homes knocked out by the explosion. Witness Dylan Fuciarelli, a 7th grader at West, claims to have seen the immense damage, Downtown Plymouth, was out of power until a transformer came, and powered the plant with oil. There was a lot of oil on the ground, he claimed to see it all the way from Northville and the fire burned till an hour and a half later the firefighters came to put out the fire”.

The DTE vans and trucks were packed with water and ice for the victims of the people and residents who lost power. DTE is making sure and talking and making a plan this won’t happen again.
