5 recipes for ONLY 2-Ingredient Sweets!

Kripa Patel, Reporter

Being bored at home sucks, doesn’t it? But wait! There is a way to cure your boredom! Make sweets that are only 2 INGREDIENTS to surprise your family members or friends (by pictures, don’t go outside during quarantine guys, that’s risky). These won’t be the best to eat every day but once in a while, your tummy will love these recipes!

Oreo Mug Cake

Ingredients:

-Oreo’s

-Milk

Directions:

  1. Put desired Oreo’s in a mug
  2. Crush all of the Oreo’s
  3. Add 1 tbsp of milk, at a time, to the Oreo’s until the mixture turns into a batter consistency
  4. Put it in the microwave for 1 minute. If it’s still a little wet, put it in the microwave for 30 seconds more. Keep going until the consistency is cake-like.
  5. Add desired toppings or cream

Chocolate Fudge

Ingredients:

-300 grams chocolate

– 400 grams Condensed milk

Directions:

  1. Grease a 5×7- inch pan with melted butter/oil and line with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on all sides.
  2. Cut chocolate into smaller pieces.
  3. Place a heavy-bottomed pan on low heat and add the condensed milk and chopped chocolate to the pan.
  4. Keep stirring for 4-5 minutes or until the chocolate completely melts and becomes smooth.
  5. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared pan and smooth it out using a spatula.
  6. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours or more until set
  7. Cut them to your preferenced slices.

Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

-4 eggs

-9 oz chocolate

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325˚F (170˚C).
  2. Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and melt completely about 1 minute.
  3. Separate the egg yolks and egg whites. Using a hand mixer, whisk the whites until soft peaks form.
  4. Add the yolks, one by one, into the bowl of chocolate, whisking to combine.
  5. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold ⅓ of the whipped egg whites into the yolk and chocolate mixture. Repeat with the remaining egg whites, adding ⅓ at a time.
  6. Pour the batter in a greased 6-inch (15 cm) cake mold.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Once the cake is cool to the touch, gently invert it onto a plate.

Optional: Sprinkle with powdered sugar, slice and serve top with ice cream. Serve with seasonal fruit.

Banana Pancakes

Ingredients:

-1 banana

-2 eggs

Directions:

  1. Mash up bananas in a large bowl.
  2. Whisk eggs (using a fork is just fine!) and add to banana paste.
  3. Fry gently in a pan on low-medium heat with a little heated oil or butter.
  4. Top it off with preferred toppings

Nutella Mug cake

Ingredients:

-1 large egg

-4 tbsp (74g) Nutella spread

Directions:

  1. Break an egg into an oversized microwave-safe mug and whisk.
  2. Add Nutella and whisk vigorously until the batter is smooth and the egg is fully incorporated. Lift your whisk a couple of times to make sure you don’t see evidence of an unmixed egg still in the batter.
  3. Cook in the microwave for about 1 minute. The cake will look the slightest bit gooey on top, but as long as the cake has risen and is set, it should be ready. Let cake sit for several hours (I recommend 2-3) before eating, so the chocolate hazelnut flavor can fully develop and overcome any eggy taste.
