Lost and Found, What’s the Point if Nobody Picks Up Their Stuff?

Damian Broyer, Reporter

The lost and found at West Middle School. It is full of items. But why? Because no one ever claims their belongings!

The lost and found (L.A.F.) is a thing that has items. These items are things that people have lost, when they are lost, they end up in the L.A.F. But people think that once they lose a thing like a water bottle or even a shoe, it’s gone forever. But it’s not! In an interview with Daniel Fugate, a 7th grader at West Middle School, these questions were asked:

Q: Why do you think no one ever picks up their stuff at the L.A.F.?

A: I think no one picks up their stuff at the West Lost and Found because they are too lazy or just don’t care. Also people might have stolen their stuff that was their[‘s] so they can’t pick anything up from the LaF.”

Q:  Do you ever think that L.A.F. stuff should be donated? Why?

A: “I think that the stuff in the LaF should be donated at the end of every quarter because at that students have had 10 weeks to pick up their stuff and that is long enough, so they should donate it to people who need it.”

Q:  If you controlled the lost and found, what would you do with it?

A: “If I controlled the LaF I would make sure that the shelves don’t get to full and keep reminding people every day to stop by every so often to check it out and have it donated every 10 weeks.”

Q: Is there even a point to the L.A.F. if no one claims the stuff?

A: “[If] There is no point to the LaF if nobody ever claims their belongs, they might as well just have a box with a sign on it that says donations.” States Daniel.

If the lost and found items keep stacking up, there will be no room for any lost items! The lost and found is full of unclaimed stuff? Did you lose anything at school? Go to the lost and found to find your belonging(s) today!
