Students need to be reading in the summer because we wanted to prevent “summer slide” and keep our brains working during our time off!  Mrs. Dinan, the librarian at the Plymouth Public Library, has been some book suggestions for teens.

Teen favorites are:

1. Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins

2. Divergent series by Veronica Rot

3. The Selection series by Kiera Cass

4. Maze Runner series by James Dashner

5. Michael Vey series by Richard Paul Evans

 6. Maximum Ride by James Patterson

7. Everything by Rick Riordan

Here are several books that will be made into movies:

1. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

2. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (the movies name is Love, Simon) by Becky AlbertalliR

3. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

4. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

5. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle

6. Wonder by R.J. Palacio

7. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling.

Lastly, both  Kwame Alexander and Jason Reynolds are really popular authors this year.

Jason Reynold’s series about track and running now has three books: Ghost, Patina, and Sunny. He has two other books about teens facing tough choices: Long Way Down and All-American Boys.
