Two kids, one husband, all of her choir student, and one band. Mrs. Grady, the West Middle School choir teacher, has a life of full music and family!

It’s a full house with her kids, husband, and her dog. Mrs.Grady has two twin boys, Brayden and Kegan. They are both eleven years old and 6th graders at West Middle School.

Mrs.Grady and her husband went to high school together. The last three months of her senior year of high school she started dating her future husband, Pat Grady. They met because she was in the theater and he made all the equipment for the show.

Before she started her music career, she wanted to be a musical therapist. Then, she found her love for teaching and inspiring kids. She started off at Western Michigan University and then transferred to Eastern Michigan University.

Her love of music started out at just five years old. It started from a solo in her kindergarten class.

Mrs. Grady is not just a choir teacher, she’s also in a band. She got into the band because the new music director at her church had the idea to start a band and made her the lead singer. The name of the band is “Island of Mercy”.

After 18 years of teaching, she still worries that her choir kids will forget the lyrics or the parents will get bored during concerts. Even though she worries, teaching her kids to sing is her favorite thing. To prepare for the concert, Mrs. Grady started by letting the kids pick the theme and the songs. After all the grades pick 10-12 songs, they continue to practice until the concert.

After all these years Mrs. Grady still loves music and inspiring others. The West Middle School choir teacher will forever be an inspiration to everyone.
