5-feet apart vs. 6-feet apart

Isabel Farley-Gillay, Reporter

So all this 6-feet apart business is really reminding me of a movie that came out recently, Five Feet Apart starring Haley Lu Richardson and Cole Sprouse.

The main characters  Stella (Haley Lu) and Will (Cole) had to stay 6-feet apart because they both have cystic fibrosis.  “Cystic fibrosis is a hereditary disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. The body produces thick and sticky mucus that can clog the lungs and obstruct the pancreas”. If they caught each other’s bacteria it would be fatal to them. When Stella and Will start doing their treatments together they end up falling in love. The two end up protesting the rule and staying 5-feet apart instead. Their nurses where heavily mortified.

Obviously, there are some differences in today’s social distancing, but it is still pretty similar.

Staying apart prevents the spreading of COVID-19. Staying apart means that the disease doesn’t spread as easily. Bacteria can’t be spread if we don’t touch and stay apart. For most age groups COVID-19 isn’t fatal, but still the virus is spreading a little too fast for our liking.  You may have no symptoms of COVID-19, but you may have it. Try to stay apart so that it doesn’t spread. Here are two very different things but still it quite a funny comparison.
