Girls basketball tryouts are from January 20 to January 26 from 3:15 to 5:05. Students are feeling the pressure. Devyn Reiger, a 7th-grade student, says she is excited about basketball tryouts and hopes to make the team. 

Bella Plencer, another West 7th grader, says, “I have been playing basketball since I was six or seven.” ….. “I have played on a travel team,” Devyn added. 

Why do West girls want to be on the team? “Basketball is my favorite sport!” Says Devyn. 

Bella added, “I want to have fun with my friends.” 

Mr. Wooster, girls basketball coach, says he is looking for great effort, hustle, making good decisions, and always moving. “I am thinking of having 10 girls on both A and B teams. So if students are out, especially because of COVID, we will have people to fill in for them.”
