It’s Christmas time! Movies are in season and I know you can get stumped looking for a movie to watch with friends and family, here are a few options I think are perfect!
The Nightmare Before Christmas

Jack Skellington, The Pumpkin King of Halloweentown, is bored with all this scaring there is going on, When Jack is out for a walk he discovers Christmas Town. Christmas Town is a place that you could think of as the North Pole. Jack, after wandering around, reports back to Halloween Town and proposes an idea that they should celebrate Christmas as well. His friend, Sally knows this idea is terrible and will end terribly and has to try and stop a very evil Christmas from destroying joyous lives.
The Santa Clause

Scott Calvin, a divorced corporate dad, is getting his son, Charlie, this year for Christmas. Charlie isn’t happy to be with his dad and would rather be with his mother and Neal, his step-father. Scott learns that Charlie doesn’t believe in Santa Claus. Even though the kid is like 7 years old. Later that night, after tucking his son in and trying to get him to believe in the magic of Christmas, even though he doesn’t believe himself, he hears hooves on the top of the roof. When Scott goes to check it out he accidentally knocks Santa off the roof and kills him.. Making Scott Santa Claus.
Elf

Elf is a movie about a human named Buddy who was raised as an elf in the North Pole, the movie is mostly about him traveling around New York in hopes of finding his biological father. Buddy throws in comedic jokes and even spreads Christmas cheer as an “elf” which citizens find rather odd…
Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town

Have you ever wondered about the origin of Santa? This movie is an oldie but I find it amazing. Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town is about Kris Kringle and how he became Santa Claus. Kris has to go up against the mayor Burgermeister Meisterburger (tongue twister) and a very angry Winter Warlock in order to get his toys to the children. They also tie in how Mrs. Claus came to be. The main message is just heartwarming: kindness, love, giving, and overcoming obstacles and negativity. Perfect for Christmas time!
The Year Without A Santa Claus

This movie is by the same company as the movie I mentioned before. It’s like a sequel but different. The Year Without A Santa Claus is about Santa feeling unappreciated and sickly. No one believes in him anymore. Jingle and Jangle, his top elves, decide to go down to the US and get proof that children still believe. They face off with the famous Heat and Snow Mizer’s to get snow and bring Christmas spirit back to those who need a reminder that it’s ok to believe.
An Arthur Christmas

In this story, there are many generations of Santa Clauses. Arthur and his older brother Steve are the sons of the current Santa. Steve uses high tech to help out on Christmas night and takes control of the whole mission. Meanwhile, Arthur helps out by reading and writing back letters to kids. He’s a major clutz but is only trying to help. One Christmas eve a present for a little girl goes undelivered. Steve doesn’t care about it but Arthur on the other hand… makes it and his Grand Santa’s mission to deliver the present by sleigh before the night ends… it doesn’t go smoothly.
I hope you have an amazing Christmas and happy New Year!
