Wicked Review

Recently, the new Wicked For Good came out in theaters and is already dominating the box office, but is the movie really worth seeing?

Overall, the movie was amazing, it has beautiful landscapes and an amazing storyline. I would definitely recommend this movie!

The storyline

This story takes place directly after the first movie. Elphaba has become the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda has taken the role of the Good Witch. As the movie progresses, we begin to understand what really happened in the original Wizard of Oz and what went wrong. Personally, I enjoyed having the ability to understand and connect the dots between all the movies.

Special effects and makeup

I thought the special effects were really good; it was obvious that a lot of time was put into the set design and makeup. My favorite was the Tin Man’s makeup, which included numerous prosthetics, taking five hours to apply every day.

Moral of the story

The story follows the idea of speaking up for what’s right and the cost of being good. This is shown throughout the movie as Elphaba tries to face the Wizard; in the process, she hurts the friends around her.
